I’ve recently been hired by Vitrines Parisiennes – an online fashion boutique / magazine to take some pictures at their studio for the catalogue and lookbook. You can check the Publications page for more photos.
It was a very interesting experience.
Chanel was organising a private marketing event at Château de Crémat (a castle which has inspired Coco Chanel to create the famous Chanel logo). Imag[IN] took care of the visual part of the event.
There was eight photographers, each of them was in charge of a group of eight apprentices working for Chanel, creating fashion pieces: dress and a hat.
Each of Chanel‘s team had exactly the same choice of materials (fabrics, jewellery etc.).
My challenge was to photograph one of the groups at four different locations in Nice (South of France) during their creation process and their final display.
The stylisations were obviously inspired by Coco Chanel and the current locations, which included:
Palais de Justice (next to the building of the law court in Nice), Fontaine du Soleil (the fountain at The Masséna Square in Nice), Les sept statues « Conversation à Nice » (The Seven Statues of The Masséna Square in Nice),
La statue du maréchal André Masséna (next to André Masséna’s statue in Nice).
Once each creation was completed, I photographed one of the girls from the team wearing it. I was posing them as if it was a real fashion photo shoot. None of the girls from the team was a professional model – which made our work even more challenging.
During the last stylisation picturing Coco Chanel at work, we have asked one of the passers-by to serve as her “model”.
For each place I had around 25 minutes to do a reportage plus a fashion portrait.
The portraits were printed on the same evening and displayed along with the remaining seven photographer’s works at Château de Crémat.
You can see the result here.
My work has been featured on La Cavalière masquée – a blog about fashion and horses.
Here’s a backstage video made by Guillaume de Maeyer.
The photos were taken for Elizabeth Wessel who’s a known fashion designer. A female model – Tiphaine, is wearing beautiful clothes from her new collection “Les secrets de la cavalière”.
Elizabeth’s inspiration comes from her passion of equestrianism, that’s why we took the pictures at Centre Equestre de Villeneuve Loubet – a horse riding club in the South of France.

Here are some backstage photos from my recent photo shoot of Katja Zwara (a look-a-like of Scarlett Johansson).
We were able to photograph at the lovely private villa in Cannes, thanks to courtesy of Daniel S.
Stylization was done by Olga Vashchuk, with whom I have already worked a couple of times and I always admire her creativity and patience. We had a lot of fun, the weather was perfect and the model just gorgeous, for the result check “new” and “making of” section!
